Ribbon Cutting for grant and community funded schoolyard forest called Meet Us at the Trees.

Schoolyard forests offer "place-based" learning opportunities that increase awareness of environmental issues, offer student wellness immersion such as forest bathing and provides service learning "giving back" community partnerships, right in the campus' back yard.

When kind and energetic partners give back and donate in ways like this, everyone benefits. Students see the sort of community minded integrity that builds their hope, confidence and resiliency. They see careers in action that peak their interest and they network with industry leaders, gaining vision for their future and even start career paths. More trees were planted to increase healthy tree canopy and reduce heat island effects. The potential for learning, health benefits and shared community space on a welcoming campus where nature is enjoyed and appreciated is an added benefit.
